All the mothers I know want more time for themselves. Or at least find a way to have more peace and relaxation during their busy lives as mother and wife. In my blog the 5 things that will improve the quality of your life as a mother.

1. Time for yourself

Definitely with dot on 1! Time for yourself!!! To be and remain a fun and relaxed mother, time for yourself is really necessary. You don't have to sacrifice yourself day and night once your offspring takes over your life. Set aside at least half an hour a day for yourself in your agenda. Perhaps you block this me-time in the family agenda, just do it! How will you fill this time? You decide! You don't necessarily have to do something useful, as long as it gives you energy! I like to read a magazine or a book. Or I cycle to the city.

2. Notebook

I regularly write in my notebook to clear my head. Just write it all down for me. You can do that at any time of the day, but in the morning or in the evening before going to sleep, writing gives you more peace of mind. Then when I read my thoughts back, I laugh at the amount of thoughts I have in a day. It gives you peace of mind so that you can relax better.

3. A good babysitter/network

“It takes a village to raise a child!” Who does not know this statement? Correct. You can't always do everything yourself. Accept that sometimes you need help from those around you. That means that you can also do something for someone else. Watch out for other people's children or bring extra groceries for that one mother who is at home with a sick child. Your quality of life stands or falls with the people around you. Especially if you have a family.

4. Yoga & Mindfulness

By applying the yoga and mindfulness exercises daily, I experience more peace, happiness and relaxation. Because the combination of a life with work, a family, hobbies and social contacts can also bring stress! You then have some time for yourself and you learn to experience more peace, relaxation and happiness through the exercises.

5. Out with your girlfriend(s)

Go out with your girlfriend(s) once in a while. Letting go of everything for a moment is very relaxing. Talking and laughing gives energy again. And so you often feel fully charged and as new after an afternoon / evening away!
